Disney Cruise Brings Palate-Pleasing Tastes

Remy Restaurant

Global Connections Travel knows cruise lines are getting better and better when it comes to fine dining, and Disney is no exception.

If you’re over the age of 18 and have been on the Disney Dream, you may have indulged in a culinary adventure at fine-dining specialty restaurant Remy.

Although named for the diminutive furry hero of the Disney movie Ratatouille, Remy is for the adults only. When your taste buds are tired of hot dogs, pizza and ice cream, get ready to spoil them with a one-of-a-kind gourmet treat.

Remy has long been known for its French-inspired menu featuring superior seasonal ingredients from around the globe.

This January, the refined restaurant unveiled a new experience to tempt even the most discerning palate: Petites Assiettes de Remy (translation: Small Plates of Remy). This new, progressive journey through fine food and wine is a leisurely experience enjoyed during the early evening hours.

Offered on the first day of each cruise, the event includes six dishes from the restaurant’s seasonal menu, along with wine pairings for each course.

Start off with blinis with Californian caviar and champagne in Remy’s spectacular wine room, a luxurious glass-walled room with marble flooring and more than 900 bottles of wine.

Next, enjoy the next four courses in the main dining room, where delicious French-inspired dishes are presented. It may be grilled salmon with smoked salmon cream or Kobe beef with turnip and potato gratin. Each course is served with a specially selected glass of wine at each station.

The tasty experience concludes with a sophisticated dessert and the final wine pairing in the private Chef’s Table dining room. Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek of Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort and Chef Mattieu Gerard Siegrist of l’Assiette Champenoise bring their impeccable talent to creating the pastries and desserts.

Petites Assiettes de Remy is $50 per person and includes the wine pairing with each course.

Looking for more adult-exclusive dining on the Disney Dream? Palo offers adult-exclusive dining serving traditional Northern Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Enjoy a pre- or post-meal cocktail at Meridian, an adults-only lounge located between Remy and Palo. Choose an indoor ocean view setting or the breezy outdoor deck, which provides a perfect spot to watch a romantic sunset or relax with a cigar selected from a fine assortment available at the bar.
