Melanie Gring, Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Public Relations, was awarded the ACE Volunteer of the Year Award at the 2015 American Resort Development Association (ARDA) ARDA World convention held in Orlando, Florida April 12-16, 2015.
The award is given each year by the ARDA Board and executive leadership of the Association to an individual, recognizing their dedication and service to the resort industry. Melanie earned the award based on the numerous ways she serves the travel and vacation industry. She is Chair of the ARDA WIN-Advantage committee and serves on the organization’s Meetings and Awards Committees, serves on the ARDA Travel Club Task Force and is Past President of the Board of Directors of C.A.R.E.
What’s more, she collaborates with ARDA staff and members to help drive the shared ownership industry to new heights. Under her leadership, ARDA WIN-Advantage has found a new role in the Association spurring on mentorship, philanthropic platforms and championing diversity.
Without the support of Global Connections’ President, Tom Lyons, Melanie says she couldn’t give the time and effort necessary to effect change. “Tom knows I enjoy volunteering in so many efforts, and I greatly appreciate the way he has championed my efforts to support ARDA and the vacation industry as a whole.”
ARDA World is the premier annual gathering for timeshare professionals around the world. More than 3,000 attendees from over 35 countries attended the global timeshare event. Global Connections has attended ARDA World for more than 10 years and actively participates in the tradeshow and speaker panels.
