Ever since Global Connections, Inc. reopened Lodge by The Blue (formerly Skier’s Edge) as its own resort located in the heart of some of the best skiing in Colorado, the property has undergone some amazing changes.
Both the renovated Lodge by The Blue and its new restaurant Myla Rose Saloon have attracted guests and visitors from near and far.
With this kind of popularity, it only makes sense to keep going! Global Connections, Inc. recently announced the purchase of an additional 40 acres surrounding the resort property, which will bring the total acreage to 43.
According to Tom Lyons, President and CEO of Global Connections and developer of Lodge by The Blue, a small portion of the 40 acres will be developed but the goal is to keep most of the natural attractions intact.
“When the additional acreage became available we jumped at the opportunity to expand the footprint of Lodge by The Blue. Our plans include growing the property but for now we are maintaining the wooded landscape to enhance our environment for our members and guests. We want to leave much of the land undeveloped to maintain its authenticity. Our eventual plan is to develop 10 acres or less of the 40 acquired.”
Future plans include:
- 2.5-mile walking and snowshoe trail (open to the public)
- Expanded access to the wetlands
- Easier access to the Blue River which runs through the property
- Additional resort lodging
- Affordable employee housing for Lodge by The Blue employees
Ranking No. 6 of 68 on TripAdvisor, Lodge by The Blue is currently among the very top specialty lodging accommodations in Breckenridge.
The additional acreage will be a welcome opportunity to give more guests the opportunity to stay at Lodge by The Blue and take in all the hiking, snowshoeing and overall wonderful Rocky Mountain experience at the base of “fourteener” Mt. Quandary.
