Hurricane Irma Update: A Message from Our Executives

Global Connections Inc. Members:

With the recent devastation of Hurricane Harvey in late August and the current devastation happening now with Hurricane Irma in full swing, we ask for your patience and understanding as we receive and process information so we can assess the best ways to assist everyone affected.

Our priority at this time is with our resorts, offices, employees and members who are currently in locations directly affected by Irma, or who have immediate plans to travel to those areas, so that we may focus on their safety.

Immediate areas include: St. Maarten, U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico.

Upcoming areas include: Florida, South Carolina Coast and the Georgia Coast, which are still in the path of the hurricane. We hope to know more about these areas later this week.

As you have most likely seen on the Weather Channel, local and national news outlets, this situation is severe and these storms are wreaking havoc on people’s lives as they continue to destroy specific areas.

We certainly understand the disappointment and confusion for all of our members of having your travel plans upset or unclear at the moment, and as we continue to gather more information, we will be communicating with members about alternatives for affected travel. There are a couple things you can do now to better understand your situation:

  1. If you have travel insurance, call your provider to find out what benefits you may have.
  2. If you booked any airfare through the airline, you may want to call them directly as they may be able to offer more information on how they are handling canceled and potentially canceled flights. If you booked your airfare through Global Connections, you may call our Travel Agency for information.
  3. If your travel plans are not immediate, we ask that you give us time to field calls and assess plans for our members whose travel is more imminent. We assure you we WILL be contacting everyone eventually, as your situations vary and we will be handling on a case-by-case basis.
